iOS & Android App Development

We design, build and ship native mobile applications for iPhone and Android — including our own titles currently live on the App Store and Google Play.

We have shipped our own apps, not just client work

Letter Ladder and Sudoku Numbers Game are our own products, both live on the App Store and Google Play. That matters more than it might sound. Building an app is one problem; getting it through App Store review, handling store metadata, managing releases and shipping updates to real users is a separate discipline that a lot of development shops have never actually done end to end.

Because we have been through that process on our own account, we know where projects stall: review rejections for privacy declarations, missing data-collection disclosures, and screenshot and metadata requirements that surface at the worst possible moment. We plan for those from the start rather than discovering them a week before launch.

What we handle

We take a mobile project from concept through to a published listing: interface design, development for both platforms, offline behaviour, app icons and store artwork, privacy policy and data disclosures, and the submission itself. After launch we handle updates, OS version compatibility and the store listing.

We are candid about when you do not need an app. If your users would be equally well served by a fast mobile website, that is usually cheaper to build, cheaper to maintain and easier for people to reach. An app makes sense when you need offline capability, push notifications, device hardware, or genuine repeat engagement — and we will tell you which situation you are in.

What you get

  • Native iOS and Android builds from a single considered codebase
  • App Store and Google Play submission, including privacy declarations
  • Store listing assets: icon, screenshots, description and keywords
  • Offline support and sensible behaviour on poor connections
  • Post-launch updates and OS compatibility maintenance

Common questions

Do we need separate apps for iPhone and Android?
Not usually. We build from a shared codebase that produces native builds for both platforms, which is substantially cheaper than commissioning two separate applications, while still respecting each platform’s conventions.
Can you get our app approved by Apple?
We have taken our own apps through App Store review and published them successfully. Review outcomes are never guaranteed by anyone, but we build to the guidelines from the start and handle the submission and any follow-up correspondence.
What happens after launch?
Apps need ongoing attention: iOS and Android release updates that break things, and store requirements change. We offer continuing maintenance, or we can hand everything over cleanly if you would rather manage it in-house.
